Kimman Harmon: Council should tighten limits on co-ops

Sarah Haynes’ Oct. 23 guest opinion laments that under City Council’s “stringent” restrictions, only “1 percent of homes could be used by co-ops.” The truth is, even fewer homes are actually needed to meet the very small demand for co-ops. … ¬†Council is wholly unaware of the total failure of their measures supposedly designed to prevent particular at risk neighborhoods from receiving inordinate numbers of co-ops. Nothing in council’s current proposal prevents any neighborhood in Boulder from receiving all of the city’s annual allotment of co-ops, year after year.
